Landscape threatens
Quietly and with little critical attention, the Natural History
Museum in London (through 15 September) shows 19 works by six artists.
Entitled Turbulent Landscapes, this sequence of interactive
exhibits shows the impact and essence of tornadoes, sandstorms,
and other environmental phenomena as interpreted by the artists.
Great ingenuity has been revealed in the selection of a wide range
of natural and by-product materials: Douglas Hollis spiralling
vortex is based upon water passing through a cylinder. The exhibition
has been particularly successful with school children (and their
parents) throughout the holiday season.
